The main reason and solution for the middle section of the LED light strip not lighting up

2025-02-18

1. LED damage: (1) The LED strip is inspected before leaving the factory, and it may be caused by improper operation that leads to LED burning. When workers operate, the scattered LED strip solder pads touch the resistor, causing current to burn out and resulting in a section not lighting up. You can check if there are black dots on the LED, which indicates that the LED is burned out. (2) Excessive current, unstable voltage, or quality issues with components can also cause LED or voltage limiting resistors to burn out. It is necessary to inspect and replace the burnt LED or voltage limiting resistor. ‌‌

2. Wiring issue: The wiring of the light strip may be loose or have poor contact, especially at the connector of the light strip. Reconnecting or replacing the connector can solve this problem.‌

3. Voltage issue: If the length of the light strip is too long, there may be a voltage drop problem, causing one section to light up and the other not to light up. This can be solved by connecting the transformer at both ends of the light strip, or adding another transformer at the end of the light strip.‌

4. Internal wiring issues: The internal wiring of the light strip may be open or short circuited, which is usually caused by long-term use, aging, or quality problems of the light strip. Damaged parts or the entire light strip need to be replaced.‌

Solution:

1. Replace damaged LED: Find the LED with black spots and replace it. However, most customers do not have the conditions for replacement, so everyone needs to be careful during installation.‌

2. Check and reconnect the wiring: Check if the wiring of the light strip is loose or poorly connected, reconnect or replace the connector. Ensure that the current is unobstructed.‌

3. Adjusting the transformer: If it is a voltage drop issue, you can connect both ends of the strip to the transformer, or add another transformer at the end of the strip.‌‌

4. Replace damaged light strip: If the internal wiring, light beads, or resistors are damaged, the damaged part or the entire light strip needs to be replaced. ‌‌

5. Cleaning corrosion: Gently clean the surface of the light strip with alcohol, gasoline, or degreaser to remove corrosive substances. If it still doesn't light up after cleaning, it may be necessary to replace the light strip.
